ABOUT US
Run Area
Our run area holds the heart of Southwest Roanoke County along the Route 419 corridor. We are responsible for residential, commercial, and industrial facilities, all of which present their own challenges to our personnel. We also host some steep terrain that can lend itself to some challenging extrications after motor vehicle accidents. We have four nearby hospitals that we regularly transport to: Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Lewis Gale Medical Center, Cave Spring ER, and the Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital.
Community Outreach
We pride ourselves in our professional service to the community. In addition to respond to 911 calls, we also participate in stand-by events. We regularly provide EMS services for high school sporting events, local concerts and music festivals, and church outreach events.
Cave Spring Rescue Squad has been serving the community of Cave Spring and surrounding areas of Roanoke County, Virginia per mutual aid agreements for more then 65 years providing pre-hospital EMS care with professionally trained volunteers. We answer 1,400+ emergency calls per year as well as provide EMS support for community events. Our members range from 16 to 70 years of age, come from all walks of life and careers, and serve on duty teams that operate once a week.
Our Agency
Rescue Station 3
CSRS operates out of one station located at 3206 Valley Forge Avenue in Cave Spring, Virginia. The station has four bays capable of housing up to eight apparatus. It is also equipped with two kitchens and a dining area, small and large conference rooms, multiple offices, separate male and female bunk rooms with shower facilities.
