In a world where everything is getting automated, how do we assess how much a celebrity is worth? There are plenty of factors that go into how much a celebrity can be paid. Factors such as their pop culture influence, box office success, and how many awards they have won can affect how valuable an actor or actress is to a film production company. The howworth measure tries to include all of these factors, and more, to determine how much a celebrity is worth. It does this by analyzing over 10 million pieces of data from users on how much they would pay for the celebrity as an advertising partner. In order for a celebrity's howworth score to be calculated, at least 100 people must have input how much they would pay for the celebrity. How is howworth calculated? From the information collected, howworth calculates how much a user would be willing to pay for an advertisement featuring that celebrity. Celebrity howworth is measured on a 10-point scale, with some celebrities having howworth scores over 20. Howworth can be anywhere from how much you would pay for a celebrity to how much someone is willing to pay. The difference between howworth and how much someone is willing to pay can be seen with Lady Gaga's howworth score of 19.83, which means how much people are willing to pay on average for an advertising campaign featuring her. Lady Gaga has an impressive howworth of 19.83, but her how much someone is willing to pay is 10.48, which means companies are only willing to pay that much on average for an advertisement featuring Lady Gaga. How do the howworth scores compare to an actor or actress' salary? Due to how actors are paid, movies' budgets are often much higher than what they would be if every person was being paid exactly equally. While companies have not disclosed how much they pay their actors, it has been estimated that Jennifer Lawrence made $8 million.
