CSRS Team Honored with Red Cross Award

Four Cave Spring Rescue Squad members are being honored by the American Red Cross at a breakfast later this month with the 911 Dispatch Hero Award. The four members are Adam LaChappelle, Emma Duff, David Flanagan, and Michael Clark. The four were dispatched to a child having seizures after a sledding accident during January’s snowstorm. Firefighters Ryan Boughal and Ryan Webster from the Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department helped clear the snow to get the team to the patient, and to get the patient out to the ambulance safely. Roanoke County EMS supervisor Jeremy Newman also assisted on the call.

The breakfast will be held at the Hotel Roanoke, on Tuesday, March 29th, at 7:30.
